Q: Herolds Bay Resort offers in-house catering but would a couple be able to use their own caterers?
A: Unfortunately only in our Die Bush Lapa venue and not at our Down to Earth venue. The caterers must also have the necessary accreditation from the Department of Health.


Q: Do you have a wedding coordinator to help with the planning of my event and will he/she be available on the day of our wedding?
A: Yes, we have several options available.


Q: Do you supply/rent out décor? Does Herolds Bay Resort have any décor restrictions? Is the décor included in the venue hire fee?
A: Décor is for the client’s own account and 3rd party companies are welcome. We do offer a list of recommended and preferred suppliers.


Q: Do you have a list of wedding photographers that you can suggest to couples?
A: Yes, we do offer a list of recommended and preferred suppliers.


Q: Do you supply flowers or do you have preferred suppliers that you can recommend?
A: Clients are welcome to arrange their own flowers. We do offer a list of recommended and preferred suppliers.


Q: Do you have an in-house DJ? Can you accommodate a live band? If a couple wants to bring in their own DJ/band, will the sound equipment be available (included in the venue hire)?
A: We do offer in-house DJ services but clients are welcome to bring in their own. Any sound required from the venue is additional and the price is subject to precise requirements.


Q: Are tables, linen, chairs, plates, silverware and glassware provided and included in the venue hire, or will the couple have to rent it?
A: All tables, chairs, cutlery and crockery are included in the venue fee. Linen is additional and we suggest hiring from a décor company, or we can arrange it for you.


Q: We would like an outside wedding (ceremony, dinner, dancing, music), could you do that? What is the contingency plan if it unexpectedly starts to rain?
A: Yes you can. Several Bedouin and marquees tent options are available from one of our preferred suppliers.


Q: Do you have the option of a paid bar? Would there be a specific amount that would have to be reached before the end of the reception? Can a couple bring their own wine, beer or Champagne, and is there a corkage fee if they do?
A: A cash bar service is included in the venue hire fee. Couples can bring their own wine and Champagne @ R35 corkage fee per bottle opened.


Q: What overnight accommodation do you provide? Do you offer a discount for booking multiple rooms? Do you provide a complimentary room or upgrade for the newlyweds? What are the nearest hotels to the venue? (Do you have a list of hotels, B&Bs, guesthouses that you suggest to couples?)
A: Herolds Bay Resort offers 4x 3-star-graded, self-catering units, accommodating up to 18 guests (including children – family-style sharing). We do offer a special rate if a couple would like to rent out the entire guesthouse. We also offer a special honeymoon package deal at a nearby 5-star hotel. For your guests we can supply a list of preferred accommodation within a 5 km radius from the venue.


Q: How many guests can your venues accommodate?
A: Die Bush Lapa venue can accommodate between 30 and 350 guests, and our Down to Earth venue between 30 and 160 guests.


Q: What about staff working at the wedding? Are waiters and bar staff included in the venue hire?
A: Yes, all waiters and bar staff are included in the venue hire fee.
