Enjoy Christmas lunch at Herolds Bay Resort

Herolds Bay Resort is famous for our delicious weekly Sunday lunches! The setting, the serenity, the music, the meals and the friendliness all play part in creating an unequivocal Sunday Lunch Experience!  A bit more on our in-house meastro responsible for Live Background Music… They are one of George’s most beloved couples – Mr & Mrs Carry & Trudi Canninga. Both stemming from their roots in Netherlands, they moved to South Africa at an early age and settled in Pretoria (where they met) before moving down to the lovely Garden Route in the early 1970’s. Carry is an international recording artist himself and Trudi received her honours degree in Music Studies at the University of Southern Africa. For more than 40 years they have wowed crowds – from big music halls to cosy, quaint coffee shops, top notch restaurants to over 40 CD’s to their production collection! Their genres are as wide and different as the variety of fauna and flora found on the Resort! From old time classics favourites in the 50’s to more modern times and a whole host of their own compositions and of course international music, ranging from Italian, French, Hebrew, Dutch and German.

The meals are lovingly prepared by Chef Noddy Kaboni and her amazing team in the kitchen! Noddy comes from Graaff-Reinett where she quickly fell in love with “plaaskos”! In George, she trained under renowned Celebrity Chef, Francois Ferreira and worked from Cuisine-type restaurants to grill houses, hotels to venues. And here at Down to Earth she found her place where she has settled and has been impressing guests with her trade for the past 9 years!
